Senior Marketing Analyst - SAS and data



My client – a UK leader in direct and data driven marketing is looking for a Senior Marketing Analyst to join their team in their offices in East Grinstead. Very strong SAS experience at a high level is essential.



The Senior Marketing Analyst is required to work within the CRM division focussing specifically on a retail client. It requires a person who enjoys communicating confidently with clients at a senior level, but is equally at home being ‘hands on’ in the delivery of client work. An excellent understanding of data and strong SAS experience is essential.



The Senior Marketing Analyst role will include involvement in the following activities:

• Client meetings, writing proposals and developing client strategies.

• Understanding client objects and KPI’s.

• Ongoing liaison with internal account management team.

• Regular external meetings with the client.

• Project planning & monitoring of project progress vs. Budget/plan.

• Data analysis using all types of statistical techniques within SAS.

• Writing documents/presentations to explain the results of analysis to the client.

• Managing the delivery of analysis from junior analysts.



QUALIFICATIONS

A degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline i.e. Maths or Statistics.



EXPERIENCE

• Strong numerate/statistical background

• Sound understanding of basic statistics and ability to explain basic statistical terms to non-technical marketers

• Knowledge of statistical software, in particular SAS is essential

• Experience in any of the following:

o Response analysis, targeting models, DM/Email campaigns

o Spreadsheet modelling, time series/trend analysis

o CHAID analysis, profiling & segmentation

o Development of cross-sell, propensity, retention/attrition models

• A self starter, able to work on own initiative, yet contribute and work in a team

• Ability to manage own workload and deliver projects, often to tight deadlines

• Confident, personable character, capable of building good working relationships with clients as well as other team members

• Ability to communicate clearly and write succinct reports

• Conscientious and reliable with a strong work ethic and personal integrity

• Interested in marketing issues, particularly within the Retail sector

• Imaginative but practical approach to problem solving
